The basic aspects of development of natural gas processing technologies into synthetic liquid hydrocarbon products were analyzed in the article. The analysis of the most promising mini-technologies of gas processing into liquid products, which can be implemented for the effective development of small gas resources were conducted. Principal directions of GTL-technologies implementation in the sphere of development of little promising oil and gas fields were formed (download pdf, 1.2 Mb)

Development of unconventional gas requires specific technical and technological means and is accompanied by diverse higher risk. The lack of practical experience and therefore reliable data on the conditions of exploration and production requires a comprehensive technical and economic approach to assess the risk of development of unconventional resources, including shale, gas to Ukraine. Wide experience in production of unconventional gas, mainly shale gas, acquisitions in the U.S., can be extrapolated and quantify the risks in Ukraine, taking into account its geological and technological conditions, economic factors and fiscal systems.
Stochastic simulation using Monte Carlo method showed that the geological part of the risks associated with the volume of gas recoverable reserves are estimated at 22-25%, technical risks associated with the initial production rate wells are 2-17%. Financial and economic risks associated with the cost of drilling, which is caused primarily by their depth, the estimated 23-25%. Up to 45% risk determined by the price of gas. Quantitative risk ranking to determine the priority areas to improve the degree of commercialization projects (download pdf, 220 kb).
